While the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is still grappling with how to settle Super Eagles players’ agitation of World Cup appearance fee, the federation will sponsors five former ministers of sports and chairman National Sports Commission NSC), five former NFA chairmen and secretaries to the 2014 World Cup kicking off tomorrow in Brazil at a total cost of N53.4m ($324, 000). It was claimed this is to give the Super Eagles moral support. This was contained in the financial estimate of the NFF for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, obtained by LEADERSHIP Sports.

The amount as contained in the estimate will take care of their air tickets, accommodation and allowances. The breakdown of the amount shows that each of the former minister, NFA chairmen and secretaries will smile to bank on return from the Mundial with $13,600 (N2, 244 000) as estacode allowance. The return tickets for the five former ministers, five former NFA/NFF chairmen/president and five ex-secretaries will cost the football house a total sum of $120,000. Each return ticket by the financial estimate of the federation costs $8,000.

The NFF will also aside the large Nigeria Football Supporters Club flying to Brazil to give the Super Eagles adequate support and cheer them to victory during World Cup matches, will take top 10 Nigerian Nollywood stars like Aki and Pawpaw to Brazil at the total cost of $800,000 (N132m). The amount would take care of their allowances, accommodation, return tickets and local transport.
