Atleast 1000 tricycles will be distributed in Zamfara amongst citizens on democracy day. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Zamfara State Government has said it will distribute 1,000 tricycles to youths in the 14 local government areas of the state on May 29 as part of activities to celebrate the third anniversary of the administration. The Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin-Magaji, told NAN on Tuesday in Gusau that the tricycles would be given as soft loans to the beneficiaries. He said the gesture was aimed at empowering the beneficiaries and reduce the stress faced by women using commercial motorcycles. He said the gesture would also help to provide employment to the beneficiaries and reduce poverty in the state. Birnin-Magaji said the government spent over N400m to purchase the tricycles. He urged the beneficiaries to ensure proper use of the tricycles as they were meant to improve their well-being
