Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini has replied to Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan apologised for biting the Italy defender during Italy’s game against Uruguay last week.
Suarez was caught on camera biting the Juventus defender during the last game in Group D between Italy and Uruguay. The incident was not caught by the referee and despite Chiellini’s appeals, which included the defender showing his shoulder with bite marks to the official, Suarez stayed on the pitch.
Suarez was later fined by FIFA, as well as being banned from the next nine international matches for Uruguay and from all Liverpool games until the end of October.
Reports emerged that Suarez told FIFA he had not bitten Chiellini and that he fallen on to his shoulder instead. However, the striker apologised earlier on today and Chiellini replied to the statement via his Twitter page.
First the Juventus defender retweeted the apology, before issuing a reply to the Liverpool forward.
.@luis16suarez It's all forgotten. I hope FIFA will reduce your suspension.
