The Marine Unit of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has foiled the attempt of five drug-traffickers to help a-yet-to-be identified syndicate smuggle 1,020.5 kilogramme of cannabis valued N10m.

The suspects are citizens from Ghana, Benin and Nigeria – named Joseph Akpe, Gabriel Fokito, Zutah Edward, Ameriato Tafe and Celestine Azarante.
The spokesman of the agency, Mr. Ofoyeju Mitchell said:
“This is the highest single seizure of cannabis made by the marine unit since its establishment. The drug has a street value of 10m naira.”
