Finally, there were goals in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. There were no goals in Group A, after the opening games yesterday.

In the first games of Group B played on Sunday, Ghana threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Republic of Congo. Asamoah, who was impressive in the game set up Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu to slide in after 39 minutes, before heading his side’s second goal shortly after the break. Congo fought back – first Mputu finished calmly into the corner, before Mbokani equalised from the spot.
 Seydou Keita’s alertness, six minutes from time, ensured that Mali became the first team to pick up all three points in the tournament. It was adeserved victory, as the war-torn country dominated possession, created the better chances and even hit the woodwork.
