Barcelona and Chile forward Alexis Sanchez is Liverpool’s top summer transfer target as they prepare to sell Luis Suarez, according to the Telegraph.
Sanchez exited the World Cup yesterday as Brazil beat Chile on a penalty shootout with the Barcelona forward missing his spot kick. He has been linked with Arsenal, Juventus and Liverpool with the Reds looking at the Chilean as their top target for the summer transfer window.
He scored 21 goals for Barcelona last season 19 in La Liga and was the main man in attack while Lionel Messi was injured. He scored a brilliant half volley on the final day of the season against Atletico Madrid that would have won the La Liga title had Diego Godin not equalised in the second half.
Sanchez carried that form into the summer at the World Cup, scoring twice in four matches and played a key role in attack as Chile knocked Spain out at the group stages but we then themselves knocked out by Brazil in the last-16.
Sanchez is at the top of a list of targets that could cost the Reds a total of £110 million this summer with Lazar Markovic, Divock Origi, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren also targets. Lallana is set to be announced in the next 24 hours after completing his medical on Friday evening but Sanchez is the main priority for the club this summer, according to reports.
