Mario Balotelli is desperate to join Arsenal this summer, according to the Mail Online.
The Italian striker wants to push through a move to the Emirates next week before the North London outfit re-calibrate their sights on alternative centre-forward targets, including the likes of Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
The former Manchester City hothead has become increasingly exasperated by the racial abuse he’s suffered in Milan and wishes to return to the more accepting climes of the Premier League.
Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, recently intimated that the 23-year-old is looking to call an end to his career at the San Siro. Responding to Barbara Berlusconi’s suggestion that Balotelli is “replaceable”, Raiola said the Palermo native was downbeat and has received offers to ply his trade elsewhere.
Mario is sad, desperate. Only Galliani has defended him while the FIGC [Italian football federation] remains absolutely silent.
“I remember that Mario had other important offers. He [Balotelli] is at Milan because of his heart – her [Berlusconi], I don’t know,”
Despite all the talk of a second move in two years for the divisive hitman, AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani stated earlier this week on the club’s official website that he expects Balotelli to stay.
”Balotelli will remain at Milan.”
